AWARENESS TRAINING OFFERS & RATES

I am currently based in Manchester, UK. I may make exceptions to travel further, but generally I'd like to stay within the Greater Manchester area for in-person sessions.

I am also happy to do online sessions if preferred/needed.

Other languages I could provide this training in: 🇱🇺 🇩🇪 🇫🇷

What you can expect

The trans awareness training I offer consists of a presentation (ca 30min usually) going over the basics of gender theory and trans stuff (ex. how transition works), followed by a Q&A for any further questions.

Different kinds of organisations will face different challenges for gender inclusion, so if you provide me with some context I am happy to tailor part of the presentation to yours or make a custom presentation.

  • Ex. For women's groups/female-dominated spaces, I generally include a section on trans-exclusionary feminism and how to avoid it.

More general knowledge things (ex. what to do if you messed up someone's pronouns or name) will be included either way.

I am also happy to share a copy of my slides afterwards for future reference. :)

Pricing

My usual rate is £150 + travel costs (if any).

If you're a smaller organisation, charity, or part of a priority group* and only have a small budget available, I charge on a sliding scale with a minimum rate of £50 + travel costs (if any).

Bigger organisations that don't fall under one of the priority groups and anyone who has enough budget to pay the regular rate allow me to discount the one for those who need it more, so you will be doing a good deed AND still get your own training.

*I give priority to services and organisations for which being educated on these things is more crucial than others. These include:

  • very gender-focused spaces that are inaccessible to gender diverse people otherwise despite being essential to people’s health and wellbeing (gynaecologists, hair dressers, hair removal places, certain sports, etc)

  • spaces that make change on a societal level and risk lacking representation and intersectionality otherwise (activist groups, media companies, schools, etc)

  • hyper male-/female-dominated spaces that aren't single-sex spaces in theory but lack experience with, and therefore may feel alienating/unwelcoming to, people with different gender experiences

If you are unsure whether or not your organisation falls under one of the priority groups, feel free to email me and we will figure it out together :)

If you are interested in hiring me to train you and your staff or have an inquiry, please email me at dkettchen@gmail.com with "awareness training" in the subject line.
